Following a successful sales and sales management career in the computer industry Gareth’s first training responsibility was as UK sales training manager for Burroughs, responsible for the development of a salesforce of over 500 people, with 150 new recruits a year. 

Gareth joined Esprit Ltd, a sales training company specialising in the IT and retail industries, becoming a Director in 1985. He ran both the Professional Services and the Sales Organisation, and in 1987 introduced the Miller Heiman sales process into the UK, building it into a £million business within 2 years. Miller Heiman is the worldwide brand leader in sales process and methodology  A Founder Partner of Academy in 1991, Gareth’s key interests lie in the successful implementation of Miller Heiman-based concepts into an organisation, , in sales management and account management training and in the bespoke development of skill modules to practise the new concepts. A typical assignment is to reinforce and improve sales process by coaching the specific, tough skills that lie behind it, adding the ‘how to do’ to the ‘what to do’. 

Gareth studied at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and the Cranfield School of Management. Married to Katharine, they have three daughters and seven grandchildren. He is a member of the Institute of Directors, Broadway Golf Club Derwentwater Marina, BAD Company and the BBC Choir (that’s Blockley Blokes Choir, not quite the real McCoy).
